About Prints
The limited edition giclée (zhee-clay)
prints of Ruth Koch’s original watercolors are created in close collaboration
with Electric Works (formerly Trillium Press), the oldest fine art workshop
in the San Francisco Bay Area. Electric Works uses the most contemporary
tools available, applying the same kind of hands-on craftsmanship and
artistry that traditional printmakers have drawn on for generations. At each
step in the process, the artist works closely with the printmaker on color
balance, tone and intensity to recreate the luminosity, spirit and intent of
the original painting.
A state-of-the-art digital
technology, giclée printing is widely used for creating small limited
editions of fine art prints. The resulting prints are lush and velvety,
having the look and feel of original watercolors on paper. Both the inks and
paper are archival, meaning that the paper is 100% acid-free cotton rag and
the inks will retain their vibrant color under normal indoor lighting. These prints stand on their own as fine
works of art, available at a fraction of the price of an original.
